It focuses on diagnosis, prevention and correction of the position of teeth and jaws.
Teeth that are not in their correct position are more difficult to clean, in consequence cavities and other series of diseases can occur, such as overbite, underbite, spacing and crowding. Some of the appliances used by orthodontists are braces, aligners or palatal expanders, according to the each patient’s needs.
Invisible and metal free orthodontics appliances
When we work on fixing misalignment, tooth shapes, and sizes or maxillary positions, we use advanced technology for the procedure. It starts with a digital impression by CEREC CAD-CAM to design invisible orthodontics appliances with perfect dental arches, produced in a shorter time than with other procedures.
Usual appliances are made of metal, making them uncomfortable and too visible. On the other hand, the metal-free orthodontics appliances are made of thermoplastic materials, with friendly qualities for health, a better look and easy to use.
It helps both on the aesthetics and the function of the muscles, fixing problems like malocclusion (abnormal bite), temporomandibular joint (pain in the jaw joint) phonetic difficulties, periodontal diseases and even digestive disorders.
Misalignment might be a very prejudicial condition, as it may cause an abnormal bite which affects the correct way of crushing and grinding the food, causing a wrong digestion and avoiding the proper nutrient absorption.
